MEALS BY GRACE…

About a year ago, a fantastic couple, Steve and Suellen Daniels, having seen too much hunger and need in our Forsyth County, founded Meals By Grace, a mission to bring food and necessary items to those without the means to procure them for themselves.  It was envisioned as a service that would initially bring the resources of the members of Grace Chapel church of Christ together to prepare meals once weekly to those without them. Through God’s providing, that mission has broadened, and the Meals By Grace crew is preparing for where God is directing them. Donations have flooded in, and the capacity to serve has grown also.

I had the opportunity to work with the team a month or so ago, and they blew me away. They take donations of fresh food (hot and cold) and sundries, and are able to deliver a week’s worth of food and supplies all over the county. This is made possible from donations and volunteers from the church and the community, and God has not ceased to provide as the needs have grown.

The video is a short interview between Steve and Suellen, and Kurt Picker about the state of the need in Forsyth County.  If you would like to volunteer, donate, or just help in any way you can, go to www.HandsOnForsyth.org to find out more.  Also, visit www.MealsByGrace.org to see what is going on day to day!

Meals By Grace uses the 3 residential ovens to prepare all of their hot meals for their families.  They are working on the procurement of some additional commercial equipment.

They rely on donations of most, if not all, of the food that they are able to deliver.  The bread is from Atlanta Bread Company.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION…

We shot another of our ‘property commercials’ for Ann-Marie Sharp, of the Platinum Real Estate Group at Keller Williams recently.  Beautiful home, and we had a very professional ‘stand in’ that helped us throughout the shoot.  Her name is Chloe.  We liked her so much that we gave her a cameo appearance as the home owner.   If you know of anyone that would like this home, give Ann-Marie a call!  You can find her at http://www.northforsythcountygeorgia.com

Peachtree Street and a great view…

I was lucky enough to shoot Warren Sams, a local attorney, recently in his office, which has a ridiculous view looking down Peachtree Street downtown.  I had seen the view in his office before, and had always thought that it would make a great environmental portrait.  It took some finagling (yes, it’s a word) to get it done, and it also helped to have an inside person to ‘grease the wheels’ (thanks mom).  The setup is relatively simple:  Exposed for the  amount of ambient that I wanted, and settled on the aperture. (That ended up being f/29 to see a good bit of the street below)   The key is an AB1600 with a 22″ beauty dish from about 3 feet up camera right on a boom, and the fill was an AB1600 bare bulb from camera left.

Thanks so much to Warren for being a good sport.  He’s a great attorney, and a pleasure to work with.  Check him out at www.samslaw.net

NO LIONS OR TIGERS, BUT THERE ARE PROBABLY BEARS HERE…

In addition to Wedding and Portrait photography, we do a good bit of work in video production also.  One of the types of videos we produce is what we call ‘property commercials’ for Realtors in the area.  If you didn’t know, it is crazy tough to make your properties stand out from all of the rest of homes on the market, and we developed this product for agents who are looking for an edge.

This video is of a property in Dawsonville GA, which sits right on the Chestatee River, and we created it for Tim Hopkins, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty.  I shot the original stills on this property about a year ago, and always thought it would make a beautiful video.  Let us know what you think, but MAKE SURE to click HD for high-definition!
