Interior Photos of the Day: Vickery Village…California Modern

There are just some types of architecture we don’t see that much of up here in North Atlanta.  Not going to see much Mediterranean (although it does happen), and open-plan Pacific island homes are definitely a rarity.  A little farther down on the list is a California modern.  Really, they wouldn’t make much sense here.  Not too much water or many mountain views, and when there are, we tend to get the log-home variety.

Well, as you might expect by now, here’s a California modern smack-dab in the middle of North Atlanta.  I know, I was shocked too.  I must admit, I’d seen the exterior before, but, as you’ll see below, the interior is a bit obscured from the road, so I never really noticed.  I do remember remarking before, however, “Man, I’d like to shoot that one.”  Well, thanks to Cindy Komar at Keller Williams, my life long (or one-time) dream has come true.

Notice the beautiful inside-outside design, and wonderfully warm reclaimed wood flooring and ceilings, re-purposed from an old whiskey mill, used throughout.  I also love the mixed use of materials.  Stones, wood, steel… all play together nicely… a skill my stinking children have yet to learn.  Anyway, I hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed shooting it!

Let us know what you think!
